Casio Pathfinder Review

casio pathfinder
My husband loved the Casio Pathfinder watch. He’s had many wristwatches and pocket watches over the years and they all stopped working in a fairly short amount of time – one of his friends who is an engineer said it was due to his unique magnetic field that we all have. Since this one is solar powered, we’re hoping that won’t be a problem. I’m not technically oriented, but I was able to set it up for him before he received it by reading the instructions, though it did take a bit to get through the manual, which is extensive.

The altimeter on the Casio Pathfinder was a little off and we’re still trying to figure out how to correct it, but the compass was accurate. We checked it against another compass that we have. The thermometer works great, but you’ll need to remove it from your arm for an accurate reading, which is only common sense, as it will register the nearest heat source first, which is your arm. The barometer was spot on with our digital weather station outside. It isn’t able to synchronize with the atomic clock, but that’s not really an issue, though some people may consider that to be a problem. I’m impressed with the solar battery. Despite playing with it, checking the time and using the illumination button for almost three days, the battery display hasn’t moved at all.

The dial on the Casio Pathfinder is quite large, which is good considering my husband often forgets where he left his glasses. In the past, my husband has had problems with watch buttons being too small for his fingers. The Casio Pathfinder buttons are large enough to fit his fingers comfortably, without looking oversized or unsightly. My husband also has difficulty hearing, but the alarm was loud enough to wake him for work with no problem.
Casio Pathfinder
My husband is a very practical person and spends a lot of time outside. He wanted a watch such as the Casio Pathfinder that was durable and lightweight, and the Casio Pathfinder accommodated him nicely. It has the functions he was looking for and looks to be tough enough to withstand his hiking, camping and other outdoor pursuits.
